Conair @ Stoyoma – Let’s Get It Together Our first event held September Long Weekend 2008, the event was the trip in & camping portion of the weekend. Some that attended also had the goal to claim a cache called Conair @ Stoyoma. The camping would occur at Cabin Lake and the hike to the cache was not mandatory.
The event was held over two days; we travelled up the canyon on Saturday morning through the beautiful Fraser Canyon counting each of the tunnels and taking a few picturesque stops along the way. We were meeting 2 of the teams coming in Boston Bar to ensure that we left no one behind. The roads into Cabin can be someone confusing so we offered to lead those that felt they needed it in. The arranged meeting place was the historic Trolley that was left on display from the days when it spanned the river; it was replaced by the new bridge in 1986.

Dear Luna:
I had the most frightful experience the other day. I went to go get a cache and it was inside this knot in a tree - I stuck my hand in and all I could feel was goo!!
Well I just am not brave enough to put my hand all the way in there - no matter how bad I want the FTF - What shall I do??
Signed: Scared of Ooey Gooey!

This event was held in December of 2008 and hosted by 3 cachers. Mrs. Turtle, High Maintenance & GoalieGirl38 at the Maple Ridge Legion.
The goal - simple a fun Redneck Pre-Christmas get together with those we knew, a chance to meet some we didn't, celebrate GoalieGirl38's Birthday and to have a ton of fun! Arrangements for the location were done by High Maintenance, with Puddle Duck 21 playing our Red Neck Santa. The event was to go from 7 pm to Midnight, High Maintenance had a blast scouring Value village to pick up those few "Must Have's" including Plaid shirts for our dynamic trio.

Being a Geocacher, adventurer on a 4x4 or a hiker means being responsible for o ur environment. This means ensuring to reduce our impact when possible, as well as taking ownership, accountability & stewardship for areas. This means repairing damage or cleaning it up even when we didn’t do it. This can be done through many way’s including CITO (Cache In Trash Out), always leave an area cleaner then when you came. This can be done through always carrying garbage bags with you – you know those grocery store bags! It also can be done through acting responsible, if you must bushwhack do it with forethought & caring. If you are using a 4x4 stay on the designated trail, don’t drive or quad to a sensitive place. Ensure not to drive over any sensitive area such as abandoned structures or remains. When you visit a location don’t take artefacts. They may look appealing but what would happen if everyone did.
