Whipsaw Cabin

As you Make your way along the whipsaw trail you will find many very unique little sights - this is one of them.  A cabin that has weathered the test of time so well that it can continue to be used today as a stay over to escape from the weather if one needs.  Nearby you will find a beautiful little lake & some quaint short trails.

A place of serene beauty that we pass by a several times a year and reflect on what life would have been like here - a place we would have likely enjoyed.  A place where you can wake up every morning to solitude & quiettood.

Near the Alpine Meadows & where one can see wolves pass by in the Summer Time & the occasional bear cubs following mommy bear.

Enjoy your trip through Whipsaw - it is a place life so few others -

Challenge Caches Have a Life all of their own.  Some are allowed by Groundspeak - however with their recent changes some may not be allowed.

This is a list of the Challenge Caches that are known in BC - including those that are allowed & not, it also will house our list of challenge caches that we will be offering to you.  Some of these you may get a smiley for - others not - however the fun is not in a "Smilie" but in the journey itself.

Do you know of a Special Cache?  Have an idea for one - As long as it is an environmentally caring cache we are more then happy to list it here for you - even if you can't get it on groundspeak! (As long as the tasks are legal!)

Wells Lake

Wells Lake - a beautiful location along the Whipsaw Trail.

Wells Lake quite often serves as an overnight stay as it is about 1/2 way along the trail.  While here be sure to take a look at how close another cache is: The End of the Road or is it?

There is a way through between the 2 caches - can you find it?  You may have to hike it if you want it - how bad do you want it?

Here you will find a Shelter & some great camping spots!  Along with some happy buggy's!  Make sure to bring the bug spray!

We do request if possible to Park and walk to the cache - Please do not drive to it as there are meadows here thare are very fragile.

We have placed the cache in a area that has been damaged by people going off the "trails" and doing what they call "Mud Bogging", we are hoping that by raising awareness of the damage it causes that perhaps fewer people will do it.

Janzen Rock

Janzen Rock exists as a tribute to Jeff Janzen who passed away of Cancer in his 20's.

Little information exists on who he was - however a plaque has been placed here as a tribute to him by his family.

The Rock is well known among those who travel the trails & those who appreciate the challenge enjoy driving up the face of it.

Many make it - if you do try - you may end up bouncing your way up the Rock!

We have placed the cache in a spot a little bit away from the rock - one that will give you a view

2 Awesome Years of Caching = 1,194 km, 3 days and 38 caches PDF Print E-mail

Disclaimer - pictures in story are not indicative of the part of the story they are placed with - they are simply ones I liked from our weekend.

Last weekend we set out on a 3 day adventure celebrating what is most important to us - Time with each other away from the hecticness of life. Celebrating 2 years of adventures, exploring and seeing the road less traveled the way others wanted you to see it. This totaled from leaving the house to coming back 1,194 KM over the 3 days and claiming 38 new caches. For many that we know that simply would be enough, but for us the caches are what leads us, not why we're there - if that makes any sense. It's about what we see - and if anyone knows us they know we get distracted easily!
