There is one time that I always feel like I've stumbled across that hiden treasure cheat in the attic. You know the one where there are all sorts of cobwebs & you move them as you gingerly seek out what lies beyond.. And that is when we stumble across such a unique sight so out in the open. One that I call - Core Samples Galore!
Hard to imagine that all of these stacks that have fallen over used to be well organized that they could tell you exactly where in the earth that that sample came from. All those little short round samples that hold the hidden specks of gold that you can see.
Quartz, pyrite, gold, silver, platinum - what can you find in the flecks of gold? If you wander around through the trees you'll find remnents of the buildings, their old "dump site" that is full of cans & even an old shoe!
Amazing is all we can say about what you can find in these parts of the Similkameen.

I don't know why I quite like this picture so much, but when I saw it struck me on how beautiful things can be when there is nothing. This cache will take you to an old home that still stands - however was never completed in the Hedley area.
The windows remain missing & there was a use for these buildings not so very long ago. But the use wasn't mining nor was it what you would think - if you really want to know then inquire to Mr. Turtle as his friend can fill in the gaps.

When you're out exploring sometimes you come across the most interesting things. Our friend Mike in Princeton, a fellow cacher, went with Jordy out exploring a few months ago to see what there was to see - when what to our wandering eyes should appear but an old abandoned cabin that now has the River Running through it - however it continues to stand.
Time tells stories, and the beauty of this one speaks for itself - inside you can still see the old magazines still resting there, and the lining on the shelves. If you look closely at the bottom of the picture you can see the trough where the water runs!

Cache can be obtained by stock vehicle (Something with a bit of clearance, but not a mini-van, so if you drive a Civic you do so at your own risk). ATV/Quad welcome.

Some Call them Spirit Rocks, others call them "Rocks"! We can see so many faces in these cliffs - in some ways it reminds us of the photos of Easter Island.
In and amongst these hills are hidden caverns of animal nests & spiders - so please be very careful where you stick your fingers.. lol We want them all to come back!
As you travel down through the Placer Mountain region there are many beautiful spots (after you get past the clear cut), at first this seems like nothing and we would have missed it the first time through if we hadn't looked and said "What's up that road?"
We ventured up and were so in awe of this whole place. A trail runs through here as well, not sure if it is completely in place but would be great to hike it one day.

So many beautiful sights, so many views, meadows, strawberry fields that go on forever! We also can't forget those that live here everyday & that we are lucky enough to glimpse them in their natural surroundings - quiet and contemplative.
Several years ago Jordy & I made our way through here and were lucky enough to glimpse a beautiful white wolf sitting in the distance. You could see his face as the contemplated and thought "what is that beast driving by?" But you could also see that he was far from worried - we saw him in the field just before here.
A little bit later we stopped here for lunch and I got out and walked around to see what there was & was greated with a few amazing views - like so many that we have in BC - we are so very very lucky
